Job description

A leading multi-service organization in the New York City metropolitan area is currently seeking a dedicated Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) to join their team in Brooklyn and Queens. This full-time role involves supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community-based setting.

About the Opportunity :

Hybrid or Remote : Fieldwork required
Shift : Flexible schedule between 7 AM and 5 PM
Schedule : Monday to Friday, with optional weekends
Hours : 37.5 hours per week, flexible scheduling with breaks
Setting : Group homes

Responsibilities :

Developing functional behavioral assessments and support plans

Providing individual and group counseling

Presenting psychotropic medications to the Human Rights Committee

Training staff in behavior support plan implementation

Referring individuals for psychiatric and psychological care

Qualifications :

2+ years of related work experience in the field

Master's Degree in a related field

Proficiency in Data Analysis and support plan development

Experience with Mental Health services coordination

Strong communication skills

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Flexibility and reliability

Empathy and professionalism

Desired Skills :

5 years of experience in a similar role

Master's Degree in Psychology

BCBA certification

Expertise in Behavior Support plan training

Strong problem-solving skills
