PRIMARY FUNCTION

Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the

establishment's storage plan. Work involves most of the following : verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.

This incumbent may direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received.

Work involves most of the following : verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing-it for shipment.

This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Responsible for oversight of the life cycle of products, including preparation, shipping and receiving.

Offers support with the maintenance of logistics policies, administer and maintain inventory control program systems and coordinate with team to promote accurate and timely processing of orders for customers.

Establish and maintain maximum and minimum consumables inventory levels.

Provides assistance for maintaining logistics planning tasks.

Scan orders into computer and track shipments across multiple channels.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.

Present a neat, clean and professional appearance at all times, unless precluded by assigned work.

Demonstrable experience as a self-starter who takes initiative in problem resolution, and follow through for non-routine issues.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with basic mathematical skills.

Must be able to pass a drug test, and have, or be able to obtain, a DoD National Agency Check Investigation (NACI) Interim Secret Security Clearance within 90 days from date of hire.

Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in warehousing operations.

Ability to safeguard all government property / facilities and provide adequate resource protection to prevent contamination, pilferage, sabotage and accidental damage, including used controlled forms.

Not an employee of the United States Government if employment will create a conflict of interest.

Not an employee of the Department of the Air Force without approval IAW DoD 5500.7-R (Joint Ethics Regulation) or the Department of Defense if such employment would be contrary to policies contained in AFI64-106 (AF Industrial Labor Relations Activities).

Must not pose a potential threat to the health, safety, security and general wellbeing or operational mission of the installation and its population.
