Purpose and Objective
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Product Marketing Sr. Manager at our Chicago, IL location to act as a Subject Matter Expert in the product area by possessing a deep understanding of the product area total addressable market (TAM).
Responsibilities
Represent the product area value & vision to customers, partners, and analysts.
Define the Market Opportunity Map for your product area and create the Winning Plan, in partnership with the Chief Product Officer and Chief Revenue Officer teams.
Identify and connect innovations built across multiple product teams.
Influence Build / Buy / Partner strategy to maximize SAP's growth.
Own the product / feature release announcement process and communications for your product area, including value positioning, messaging framework, branding, and public roadmap and website updates.
Determine under-performing product offerings that should be sunset; partner with the Chief Product Officer and Chief Revenue Officer to exit products.
Collaborate on packaging, pricing, and licensing plans for your product.
Contribute to creating product packages that span across or seed into multiple product / solution areas.
Evaluate and approve customer and partner incentives.
Lead the annual marketing planning process for your area and determine the marketing mix and tactics.
Serve as the business owner for Tier 1 SAP events and 3rd party Industry events.
Ensure excellence in customer journey content, programs, and resources for your product area.
Collaborate with Marketing & Solutions discipline teams to ensure quality, consistency, and completeness of content; approve new programs and resources to maximize customer engagement and ensure the availability of hero customer stories.
Contribute to planning Integrated Demand Programs (IDPs) and monitor Demand Generation KPIs to adjust.
Own product communications to all external audiences and serve as a leading spokesperson and evangelist for engagement with analysts, press, customers, partners, and community groups.
Lead collaboration across marketing to define and deliver sales enablement content for your product area.
Build open, honest relationships with senior-level peers and share feedback with your department staff.
Manage managers of teams or organizations; guide objective setting, development plans, performance reviews, and ongoing feedback; support employees’ career aspirations and transition into desired roles.
Conduct Performance and Reward Management processes and manage the employee life cycle through recruitment, selection, performance, succession planning, development, and transition activities.
Education and Occupational Experience
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field of study and ten (10) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field of study and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications / Skills and Competencies
Experience must involve four (4) years of experience in each of the following :
Designing, implementing, and testing technology solutions
Analyzing business requirements and developing technical specifications
Leading and executing strategic projects such as digital transformations and merger integrations
Developing product strategy and roadmap based on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer requirements
Position requires at least one (1) year of experience in each of the following :
Defining marketing plan and campaign to drive adoptions of software products
Developing and executing account-specific business development plans
Designing market-specific growth plans for software products
Travel
Position requires up to 20% domestic and international travel to various unanticipated customer sites and SAP offices for business meetings.

Compensation Transparency
The annual base salary range for this position is $244,350 - $415,425. The targeted combined range is $325,800 - $553,900. The actual offer will depend on education, skills, experience, and other factors. SAP provides benefits details here : SAP North America Benefits.
