CEI ITS Inspector

Join our team of professionals! Metric Engineering is searching for a CEI ITS Inspector for our Ft. Lauderdale office. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus at least two years in construction inspection with one year in communications systems and / or signalization inspection. This position will be responsible for performing assignments in assisting the CEI Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties.

Primary responsibilities include :

• Monitor the contractors daily work activities and ensure construction is being completed in accordance with the applicable Contract Documents.
• Record the contractors daily work activities and other information relevant to the project in a daily work report (DWR).
• Measure and report work quantities for construction progress payments.
• Maintain a set of redlined plans showing work completed to-date and any field adjustments that should be memorialized in the final as-built plans. Submit redline plans to the Project Administrator on a weekly basis for incorporation in the as-built plan set.
• Assist in field investigations on an as-needed basis to obtain additional details / information related to construction issues.
• Notify the Project Administrator and contractor of defective work work activities that deviate from the plans or when materials are installed that do not meet Contract requirements.
• Monitor configuration and testing of ITS devices / equipment and ensure testing is being conducted in accordance with the approved test plan.
• Works independently and relies on extensive experience / judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
