ER RN Job Details – Freeport, IL Location : Freeport, Illinois 61032 Facility Type : Acute Care Hospital – Emergency Department (24 beds) Position : Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Travel Assignment Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour Nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed Open Positions : 2 Orientation : 2 shifts (12 hours each) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $2020 ER Nurse Qualifications & Requirements Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission) Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNS or TNCC, NIHSS Experience with moderate sedation, phlebotomy, and EKGs Ability to work rotating start times and all shifts as needed First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply ER RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4-5, adjusting for patient acuity and staffing Administer critical care drips and moderate sedation as needed Perform blood draws, EKGs, wound care, and assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures Provide care for behavioral health patients in designated safe rooms Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, mid-level providers, techs, and support staff Float to other units (Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, ICU) based on experience and hospital needs Document patient care using the Meditech charting system Maintain professionalism and adhere to hospital policies, including dress code (solid color scrubs) Freeport, Illinois offers a unique blend of small-town charm and modern amenities, with scenic parks, local shops, and a welcoming community.
