Shift : Nights, 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM

Hours per Week : 40 (5x8 hour shifts)

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2370-$2430

Employment Type : Travel / Contract (Locum Tenens)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license in good standing

Minimum of 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Trauma 1 experience required

EPIC electronic medical record experience required

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the Med / Surg unit, following best practices and Illinois healthcare standards

Implement procedures and nursing theories specific to medical-surgical practice

Maintain accurate documentation of patient care using EPIC EMR

Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans

Modify care plans based on patient evaluation and clinical judgment

Ensure patient and staff safety, reporting and addressing hazards promptly

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team

Delegate and oversee completion of patient care tasks to healthcare support staff

Administer medications in accordance with the "5 Rights" of medication administration

Comply with safety protocols, including fall and pressure ulcer prevention

Utilize critical thinking and nursing judgment to respond to changes in patient condition

Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment
