Job description

Position Summary :

The Therapist provides professional individual, group, and family therapy to children, youth, and families involved with Youth Emergency Services, Inc. This role is responsible for assessing therapeutic needs, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, and documenting clinical progress in accordance with legal, ethical, and agency standards. The Therapist works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and supports the agency's mission of fostering resilience and positive outcomes for youth.

Evening and weekend hours are required to meet client needs. Schedule flexibility is essential.

Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related human services field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience providing individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Must be license-eligible and actively pursuing licensure (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW) in the State of Wyoming.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices is preferred.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and meet all agency hiring requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions as prescribed by the treatment plan.
  • Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and formulate accurate clinical diagnoses.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the youth, family, and program team.
  • Monitor therapeutic progress and update treatment goals as clinically indicated.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with HIPAA, Medicaid, and agency standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and treatment reviews.
  • Provide crisis intervention and therapeutic support as needed, including safety planning.
  • Collaborate with community providers, case managers, and program staff to coordinate services.
  • Conduct outreach and aftercare services, including documentation of contacts and service outcomes.
  • Attend required agency trainings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and ethical standards of Youth Emergency Services, Inc., including confidentiality, professional boundaries, and mandatory reporting laws.
  • Develop rapport with clients and families to create a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Utilize a variety of evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, and solution-focused therapy.
  • Maintain professional licensure requirements, including continuing education and supervision hours.
  • Advocate for client access to services and support systems in the community.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong therapeutic skills in working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Crisis de-escalation, group facilitation, and behavior management techniques.
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma, and family systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and documentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Emotional intelligence and professional judgment in high-stress situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing program and client needs.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Office, residential, and community-based settings.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required.
  • Exposure to emotionally intense situations involving at-risk youth.
