About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on AI Engineering Manager with deep expertise in AI and practical experience building chat-based systems and AI agents. In this role, you will lead the architecture, development, and delivery of intelligent, production-ready systems that leverage large language models (LLMs) and agent-based orchestration.

You will also be responsible for forming and mentoring a high-performing engineering team based in our San Francisco office.

In this role, you will report to our VP of Engineering. This position is based in our San Francisco headquarters with in-office days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership

Build, grow, and mentor a strong team of AI and backend engineers.

Design and implement chat-based AI agents powered by LLMs and orchestration frameworks (e.g., ReAct, LangChain, AutoGPT).

Deliver robust, reliable systems all the way to production.

Lead development of ML / AI pipelines for data processing, training, and inference.

Work closely with Product, Data Science, and Design teams to define clear goals and execution plans.
