Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certification for night shifts and floating requirements.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the ICU with occasional IMC / PCU patient assignments
  • IMC / PCU patients may board in the ICU, resulting in higher patient ratios (up to 1 : 3)
  • Floating to IMC / PCU units is required with a ratio of 1 : 4
  • Night shift position, 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00
  • Every other weekend required with a total of six weekend shifts in six weeks
  • Holidays are part of the scheduled requirements
  • Required scrub color is Caribbean Blue and scrubs are not provided
  • Duties include providing specialized care to ICU, IMC, and PCU patients as needed
  • Modules must be completed pre-start and may continue during orientation, with approximate modules totaling 12 hours
  • If previously employed by MedStar, must have a 1 year separation before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a local rate
  • All time off requests must be submitted with initial application and RTO is limited, with no RTO allowed in the first two weeks
  • Manager interview may not be conducted and candidates must be comfortable with this process

  • Active MD or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications required
  • Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required
  • Telemetry and ventilator management skills required
  • Two professional supervisor references from the last 2 years required
  • Will accept first-time travelers
