The Division of Animal Resources (DAR) is a unit of the Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development. The primary objective of the Animal Resource program is to facilitate the use of animals in research and teaching at Georgia State University while assuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Animal Resources program maintains responsibilities in animal procurement, animal housing and daily care, the provision of veterinary care, health surveillance and preventative care, assisting investigators and their staff with animal procedures, and the care, maintenance and replacement of relevant equipment and facilities.
The Division of Animal Resources at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Laboratory Animal Technician (Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO :
This position is responsible for daily animal husbandry including food / water / health checks, cage changes, room sanitation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
Reporting health cases to veterinary staff.
Maintain routine recordkeeping of duties performed, animal inventory, and environmental conditions.
May be responsible for euthanasia.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience with laboratory animals.
Preferred Requirements :
Ability to stand for long periods of time, perform repetitive motions, and lift 30 pounds
