ER RN Job Details - Kankakee, Illinois Job Title : Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) Location : Kankakee, IL 60901 Healthcare Setting : Acute Care, Level 2 Trauma Center Assignment Start Date : October 27, 2025 Assignment End Date : January 26, 2026 Contract Length : 13 weeks Shift : 12 Hour Nights (6 : 00pm - 6 : 30am) Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Weekend & Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday required Scrub Color : Caribbean Blue Charting System : Epic EMR Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1840 - $1980 ER RN Qualifications & Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - Illinois or compact state Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (more preferred) Pediatric ER experience preferred BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required TNCC certification preferred (may be waived with strong ER experience) Ability to provide clinical support to a diverse patient population in emergency situations First-time travel nurses welcome with sufficient ER experience Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced 35-bed Emergency Department with 2 trauma bays Utilize ESI triage algorithm and participate in patient triage as needed Care for trauma, stroke, STEMI, mental health, and pediatric patients Administer and monitor critical care drips and medications Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, LPNs, techs, and paramedics to provide comprehensive emergency care Perform blood draws, EKGs, and assist with patient transport Monitor and interpret telemetry strips Work within a supportive healthcare team environment with 24 / 7 charge nurse and in-house security during peak hours Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Travel ER RN in Kankakee, Illinois!
