Lead Computer Support Specialist

George Fox University's Institutional Technology (IT) department is seeking a highly skilled, collaborative, and motivated team player to fill the role of Lead Computer Support Specialist and coordinate the work of the Computer Support Services team.

About the Job :

The Lead Computer Support Specialist will use their strong people skills in working closely with campus constituents to understand the needs and requirements of computing hardware and ensure resources are adequate and available for faculty and staff.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Assisting Institutional Technology leadership with the management of computer support technicians.
• Assigning support and other technical tasks to university computer support technicians.
• Assisting Institutional Technology leadership with project management tasks for computer support and deployments.
• Configuring, deploying and tracking all Windows and macOS computers in campus computer labs.
• Deploying specialized software (e.g. AutoDESK, Adobe Creative Suite, etc) in large-scale deployments.
• Diagnosing and repairing software / hardware related problems on Windows and macOS computers.
• Assisting in the management and support of specialized academic equipment including maker space, machining tools and scientific equipment.
• Managing license and application servers in support of university labs.
• Managing university printers and printing servers.
• Assisting computer technicians in support of end user computing needs.
• Installing software and hardware on faculty, staff and lab computers.
• Assisting customers with technology issues on the phone, at Service Desk or at their work location. Calling support for computer repairs.
• Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
• By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
• Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
• Other duties as assigned.
