Job description
As an HVAC Outside Sales Engineer, you’ll take a consultative approach to building trusted relationships with mechanical engineers, contractors, and building owners. You’ll lead strategic account development, manage complex sales pipelines, and deliver tailored HVAC solutions that solve real-world challenges. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role that blends technical expertise with relationship-building to drive long-term growth and customer success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving sales growth, managing accounts, and delivering technical solutions. Specific responsibilities include :
Sales & Account Management
- Develop and foster relationships with mechanical engineers, contractors, and building owners
- Drive growth through strategic account planning and targeted business development
- Manage commercial accounts with a focus on long-term customer satisfaction and retention
- Ensure profitability by adhering to pricing structures and established sales processes
Customer Engagement
Understand specific customer requirements to create tailored HVAC solutionsDeliver timely, accurate solutions through product recommendations and system design expertisePromote the Force Equipment product line at HVAC-related promotional eventsWork closely with clients to ensure optimal satisfaction throughout each project lifecycleProject Coordination
Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to ensure seamless project executionOversee project management activities including quotations, order processing, and trackingManage logistics including freight claims, product availability, and warranty or field service coordinationMaintain clear communication across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project successTechnical Expertise and Continuous Learning
Stay current on HVAC fundamentals and product innovationsLeverage deep technical knowledge to deliver high-value, practical solutionsEducate yourself, colleagues, and customers on emerging technologies and best practicesExperience and Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering preferred)Minimum 5 years of successful experience in Commercial / Applied HVAC Sales Engineering (preferred)Experience with CRM tools and sales tracking systemsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven ability to build and sustain long-term, mutually beneficial customer relationshipsStrong consultative sales approach with experience navigating complex, matrixed environmentsIn-depth technical expertise in commercial HVAC systems and familiarity with key manufacturers in the marketEffective multitasking and organizational skills with a sharp attention to detailEstablished network and reputation within the HVAC industryApplies strategic and analytical thinking to evaluate solutions and drive resultsEnergetic, enthusiastic, and professional—thrives in a fast-paced environmentWorks effectively across teams, customers, and suppliers with a collaborative mindsetExcellent written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externallyDemonstrates Force Equipment’s Core Values : driven and self-motivated, can-do attitude, team player, customer driven, do what’s right, and accountableBenefits :
