Fleet-Maintenance Supervisor – FreshPoint, Inc.
Overview
This is an Operations position responsible for managing the activities associated with maintaining the fleet maintenance department. Responsibilities include supervising the company shop and shop personnel for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of the fleet, ensuring safety and security of the shop and fleet, and providing general supervision and direction to shop staff. The position is also responsible for administrative duties including parts procurement, inventory management, asset tracking and cost control through maintenance systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily work and safety of associates engaged in fleet maintenance and repair. Prepare work schedules including extra workdays and shifts as needed.
- Oversee labor hours and consumable supplies within budget. Assist with oversight of a fleet services budget, including review of past year income and expenses; adjust and administer fleet service purchases (parts, tools, office supplies). Assist with budgets and contracts between third-party vendor services to ensure efficient operations. Review fleet maintenance functions and various operational and expense reporting.
- Administer proper utilization of Company assets in support of the fleet maintenance department. Stay current with technical manuals, literature and technical advancements relevant to company-owned vehicles.
- Conduct audits to ensure required documentation is accurately completed (work orders, breakdowns, preventative maintenance logs, pre / post-trip inspections, certifications) and that items are installed correctly with minimal loss risk.
- Assist with scheduling of truck maintenance and repairs; ensure compliance with all company programs, including preventative maintenance, inspections, non-scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, rebuild and overhaul of vehicles. Ensure proper licensing of fleet vehicles and annual vehicle / trailer inspections. Coordinate required processes and repairs with appropriate departments as necessary.
- Supervise parts inventory and issue purchase orders based on anticipated needs.
- Suggest efficiency ideas and cost-reduction measures; assist with implementing changes within fleet maintenance.
- Maintain open communication with associates, answer questions, explain policies and procedures, monitor morale and solicit ideas to improve engagement and enablement.
Education
Education Required : High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Education Preferred : Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) CertificationExperience
Experience Required : Must possess a valid state Driver's License meeting Company standards; complete a Sysco-approved defensive driving program; Class A CDL preferred; Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco; Trailer Refer (608) Certification preferred; Cab Air (609) Certification preferred; Air Brake Certification required; ASE Certification preferredExperience Preferred : 1-3 years maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.Licenses / Certifications
Must possess a valid state Driver's License meeting Company standards.Complete a Sysco-approved defensive driving program.Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco.Air Brake Certification required.Trailer Refer (608) Certification preferred; Cab Air (609) Certification preferred; Class A CDL preferred; ASE Certification preferred.Technical Skills and Abilities
