This position is remote until the office opens in or around Bryan, TX on or before February 2026, after which time it will be a 100% on site role.
Come join us at Terrestrial Energy, a US developer of advanced, Generation IV nuclear reactors. We are growing our workforce to develop and deploy our Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) small modular nuclear plant to provide cost-competitive, clean firm heat and power to industry.
The Company has recently completed a merger creating a publicly listed operating company (NASDAQ IMSR), to secure the capital resources for our next growth phase. With the current alignment of US Federal and State government, as well as industry interest in Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and advanced reactor technologies such as Terrestrial Energys IMSR, there is today a unique and compelling opportunity to participate in the execution of the companys growth business plan.

- Have the specific skillset and experience for the following role :
TheMechanical Engineer, under the direction of the Mechanical Engineering Manager, is primarily responsible for design and development of their assigned mechanical systems through the Detailed Engineering phase. Other responsibilities include :
Prepare calculations, analyses and assessment documents for the development of the system and equipment designPrepare the system classification, design requirements and design summary report in accordance with applicable design guides, procedures, and codes and standardsParticipate in and contribute to design reviewsCommunicate and work with various technical disciplines to understand system design(s) and interfacing requirementsCoordinate and interface with the plant layout lead in the development of 3D CAD for the responsible mechanical systemsContribute to timely resolution of mechanical design challenges and address risksCoordinate with, and support work of, other disciplinesConduct presentations to interdisciplinary team and external stakeholdersInterface with external vendors, design agencies, technical experts, clients and regulators as requiredOversee and collaborate with external vendors, carry-out vendor deliverable reviewsProvide input to schedules, cost estimatesResponsible for ensuring that the budget, timing, and quality of engineering work is executed as requiredReport progress of project work on a regular basisMentor junior team membersOther duties as assignedCore Competencies

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or alternate degree in a related fieldPE Certification, or eligible to obtain a PE CertificationMinimum of 8 years of work experience in the design of mechanical systems, preferably within the nuclear industryDemonstrated success in project delivery and the execution of mechanical design methodsExpert or working knowledge of nuclear pressure boundary codes including ASME Section III Division 1, CSA N285.0 and ASME B31.1Strong problem identification and problem resolution skillsFlexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlinesExceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skillsAssets
