American Traveler seeks an experienced RN to join an adult ICU team for a trauma level 2 setting, requiring a NE or compact RN license and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an adult ICU within an acute care hospitalUnit has 33 beds with an average daily census of 16Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 for adultsCommon cases include trauma, cardiac, overdose, sepsis, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distressRequires titration of cardiac, insulin, and sedation dripsUse of RT equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilatorsMonitors are GE brand, RNs are required to interpret and document telemetry stripsEMR system used is Epic12-hour night shifts are requiredEvery other weekend and a minimum of 2 holidays during contract are requiredFloating required, primarily to PCU and occasionally to MedSurg with appropriate patient ratiosRNs must pass a skills exam during orientation with a 90% or higher to continue assignmentOne shift of unit-specific orientation is providedUp to 7 days of requested time off (RTO) will be accepted upfront per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approvedArtificial nails are prohibited for all patient care providers; refusal to comply will result in contract terminationNurse aides and healthcare support techs provide additional support based on census and needSelf-scheduling is permitted for core staff; travelers are added in and block scheduling is not guaranteed except for weekendsFirst time travelers are not excluded from consideration\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required, no pending certifications acceptedExperience titrating cardiac drips and interpreting telemetry requiredDriver’s license required to verify permanent address for a 50-mile radius ruleCandidates may not have been employed in any capacity by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year\n Benefits\n
