We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team.

Under limited supervision, the Accounting Clerk assists the Accounting department in performing multiple duties related to the Accounting functions of the organization, within the established deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, record, and process accounts payable and cash disbursement, and accounts receivable. cash receipts and daily income audit / journal.
  • Bank Reconciliation.
  • Prepare allocation tables for indirect expenses and revenue items as needed.
  • Assist in the posting of accounts to the general ledger for : accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable and cash disbursements.
  • Review open invoice reports and follow up with a schedule of payments or adjustments.
  • Assist controller with the year-end financial audit.
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
  • Perform other related duties as directed or as the situation dictates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine Accounting Reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, associates of organization, associates and the general public and to optimally present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Excel and working knowledge of Opera highly preferred.
  • EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree on Accounting from four-year college or university preferred. Three plus years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    PAY RANGE

    The pay rate for this position is $20.00 to $22.00. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, and education.
