Primary responsibilities
Verify silo and raw material levels; confirm adequate bulks for the shift.
Review the production schedule; coordinate with the Planner on issues or constraints.Walk production lines to confirm tools, work orders, and proper PPE are in place.Housekeeping (5%)Maintain a clean worksite : sweep, vacuum, remove packaging materials / debris, and ensure equipment cleaning.
Ensure dust collector drums are emptied on schedule.Staging & Shift Handoff (5%)Lead the shift meeting.
Stage materials for the next shift to minimize downtime.Provide a shift summary covering productivity, downtime, and quality concerns.Send the shift summary report via email at end of shift.Quality Control (5%)Confirm raw materials are within date and formulas are followed.
Collect QC samples; adjust batches based on results.Verify final product meets quality specifications.Equipment & Materials (5%)Escalate maintenance needs, shortages, failures, and repair requirements.
Leadership (25%)Serve as Production representative in cross-functional meetings.
Review / approve timecards and time-off requests.Prioritize and allocate work.Foster trust; recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.Collaborate with the Production Manager to maximize productivity.Assess and reward performance.Build team culture.Communicate and motivate.Qualifications
5+ years in a plant environment.Math skills for basic formula weights.Ability to read and interpret directions and order details.Written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with plant equipment or equivalent experience.Microsoft Office proficiency.ERP experience (JD Edwards preferred).Proven ability to learn new computer skills and programs.REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
