Job description

We’re looking for problem solvers, innovators, and dreamers who are searching for anything but business as usual. Like us, you’re a high performer who’s an expert at your craft, constantly challenging the status quo. You value inclusivity and want to join a culture that empowers you to show up as your authentic self. You know that success hinges on commitment, that our differences make us stronger, and that the finish line is always sweeter when the whole team crosses together.

Together, we will re-imagine Human Resources as the People and Culture Team, and we will accomplish this through analyzing people data within the employee lifecycle. Our stakeholder groups go fast and need answers; we aim to provide it quickly, accurately, and communicate it to them at their level of technical expertise. Our data sources are wide, varied, and ever-changing, including headcount, attrition, recruiting, benefits, compensation, time off, diversity, equity and inclusion, internal movement and oh so much more.

The ideal candidate for this role understands human resources as a transactional, operational and strategic function. You have a zeal for combining your business acumen with your analytical mind to understand and improve the lives of one of the most complex and fascinating assets in an organization: its people.

Curious? Awesome. Here’s your day-to-day:

  • Work with different groups within the People and Culture Team to understand their business challenges, develop data requirements, conduct in-depth analysis, and build a solid foundation of reporting.

  • Become a go-to-person for your groups to understand their quantitative and qualitative data and to procure the most relevant insights.

  • Extract data from various systems related to Human Resources, but primarily using Workday.

  • Use Alteryx and Excel to identify, combine, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in often messy and noisy data sets.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven solutions, including best practices in data collection.

  • Identify data integrity issues and implement improvements to ensure accuracy of findings.

  • Create custom reports and interactive dashboards using data visualization tools to demonstrate findings and results.

  • Continuously assess reporting efficiency and effectiveness and areas of improvement.

  • Be curious and independently explore data for new ways to solve problems.

  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

And some stretch goals:

  • Increase the technical knowledge of our People and Culture Team through videos, trainings, and written guides.

  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.

  • Regularly present results of analysis to senior management across a wide range of functions.

  • Get Alteryx Core Certified.

Basic requirements:

  • A passion for People Analytics: a data enthusiast, who will help the People and Culture team try to answer larger workforce questions.

  • A four-year college degree (or additional experience in a related field) and 3 years professional experience

  • 1+ years of experience extracting and synthesizing data from diverse sources (including spreadsheets!), developing reports and visualizations for presentations.

  • Experience with cleaning, organizing and preparing data for analysis including extracting, transforming and loading data into and out of enterprise level data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake) using SQL/Python.

What you need to thrive in this role:

  • Highly motivated to build scalable, self-service solutions while maintaining data integrity and security.

  • Ability to deliver high quality analyses and products within demanding timelines.

  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and experience analyzing large, complex datasets forming meaningful insights.

  • A strong work ethic and the desire to optimize processes and systems to drive growth and efficiency for best practices.

  • Known as a pro-active, resourceful individual who takes initiative with little direction and successfully contributes to a team environment.

  • Clear, concise and audience focused communication skills both written and verbal.

What will make you a superstar in this role:

  • Has a broad foundation in advanced HR/People and Culture disciplines and in-depth knowledge of HR/People and Culture programs.

  • Has functioned at the center of all HR/people data activities involving Talent, Benefits, and Compensation. Partnered effectively with IT, Payroll, DEI, and Finance partners.

  • Knowledge, understanding, and application of forecasting techniques or statistical analysis or data modeling or data mining.

  • Experience with Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tool, Snowflake, and/or Workday reporting

  • Demonstrated experience communicating/presenting complex and independent concepts and unbiased fact-based decision-making, business performance and statistical model results.

Compensation:

Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.

The salary range for this role is $105,000 - $126,700.

In addition, you may be eligible for other compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
