Job Title : Technical Engineer

Location : New York, NY

Duration : 3+ Months contract (09 / 02 / 2025 to 12 / 31 / 2025)

Primary Skill Required for the Role : DATA ENGINEERING

Level Required for Primary Skill : Expert (10+ years experience)

Description :

The services You will provide the client project team : As a Technical Engineer Contractor, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering solutions. Designing and developing technical solutions to address complex engineering problems. Conducting system integration, testing, and validation to ensure the performance and reliability of technical solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance. Performing troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to maintain system functionality. Documenting technical specifications, processes, and procedures for future reference and compliance.

KDB+ / Q Engineer for Citadel Securities, with in-person expectation at client office 4-5 days a week

Data Engineer - Expert (10+ years of exp)

KDB+ / Q database engineer

KDB+ / Q. KDB+ / Q (KDB+ is an ultra low latency high performance time series DB that is used by quant / trading firms that drive millisecond efficiency). Q is the programming language to interact with KDB+ databases. https : / / kx.com / products / kdb /

Coding : Can actually write code

Architecture knowledge : 10%

Operational : 25%

KDB Dev : 65%

Focus on KDB+ / Q engineering skill (get requirements from client development team, implement and test, and release to production)

Ansible configuration, Shell scripting

If candidate has experience with these organizations, they will be a good pick : First Derivative, AquaQ / Data Intellect (these are boutiques specializing in KDB / Q)

Pay rate : $105-$108.33 / hr depending on experience
