Senior Product Engineer

We are assisting our industry-leading client, the premier foundry in the country and sole source for many aerospace parts, in their search for an experienced Senior Product Engineer . This senior engineering position involves performing various tasks related to the development and production support of Magnesium and Aluminum aerospace sand castings. The role includes implementing cost-efficient production methods to meet quality standards, investigating and resolving work-in-process issues, and recommending operational improvements. What you will do :

• Design gating, riser, and chilling systems for aerospace castings to meet specifications
• Collaborate with CAD technicians, tooling vendors, and manufacturing teams to optimize tool designs
• Develop and review samples and trial castings through all manufacturing stages
• Interpret inspection results, address nonconformities, and implement corrective actions
• Investigate and resolve production and quality issues
• Create and maintain work instructions for casting processes
• Lead new casting program development, including tooling and process approvals
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects
• Travel to customer and vendor facilities as needed

What you will need to be successful :

• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a technical degree and experience equivalent to a degree will be considered
• 15+ years of Foundry Engineering experience
• Experience in gating / risering of Non-Ferrous alloys, tooling design, and process development
• No bake sand casting experience and an understanding of aerospace specifications, requirements, and quality systems preferred
• Magnesium casting experience preferred
