HIRING! Shop Manager
Industry: Oil & Gas Drilling Equipment
Reports To: Vice President of Operations
Salary: $150,000 – $250,000 (DOE)
About the Role
A well-established oil and gas drilling equipment company is seeking an experienced Shop Manager to lead its repair and service operations. This role is critical to driving shop performance, improving efficiency and profitability, and ensuring on-time delivery while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all daily shop operations
Plan, schedule, and oversee workloads to meet production and delivery targets
Develop, mentor, and support shop personnel to ensure technical excellence
Coordinate closely with internal departments to align production and workflow
Enforce and support safety, quality, and compliance programs
Provide leadership input into operational improvements and strategic planning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
Minimum 1+ year of relevant oil and gas or drilling equipment experience
Experience with major drilling equipment manufacturers (e.g., Varco, Tesco, Canrig) preferred
Proven leadership and people-management experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands
Occasional lifting of tools and supplies
Work environment may include exposure to extreme temperatures
