Location : Avera McKennan Hospital

Worker Type : Regular

Work Shift : Primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays

Pay Range : $34.00 - $51.25 (Actual pay rate dependent upon experience)

Position Highlights

A Brief Overview

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for the daily coordination and delivery of occupational therapy services. Your focus will be on implementing specific treatment programs tailored to individual patients and groups, all while adhering to the principles and practices of occupational therapy.

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific factors, providing care for patients from infants to geriatrics.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment programs based on thorough evaluations.
  • Utilize selected activities to promote health and achieve treatment goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services in various functional settings.
  • Plan therapy in alignment with the patient’s physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, including evaluation results and progress notes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Establish rapport and collaborate with team members throughout the intervention process.
  • Enhance your professional growth through educational programs and workshops.
  • Participate in the development of departmental programs.
  • Essential Qualifications

    To thrive in this role, you must be able to work the specified hours and perform essential job functions effectively. This includes having adequate visual acuity and the ability to communicate clearly.

    Required Education and Experience

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice upon hire.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of clinical patient care experience.
