Must-Have :

Experience in both ICU and Emergency Room

Description :

Candidates must have two supervisory references.

One reference should be within the last 12 months, and one within the last three years.

Modules are required to be completed before the start.

Modules take 3-4 hours and are not billable.

Candidates may not have been directly employed by any associated facility within the past year.

Candidates previously employed as PRN through outside firms will be considered.

Dys exam through Relias is required prior to acceptance.

The exam must be completed within 24-48 hours and is pass or fail with two attempts.

A screenshot showing the number of attempts is required.

If a candidate fails the second attempt, they will be made DNU for the facility.

This position will float between ICU and Emergency Room; experience in both areas is necessary.

The unit is an 8-bed ICU.

Charge nurses generally do not take patients but provide break relief.

Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend.

Holidays will rotate with core staff.

Scrub colors must be navy; undershirts can be navy, white, or black, and scrub jackets are optional.

Candidates must be able to read and interpret EKG strips and manage ventilators.

Hospitalists or Intensivists are present in-house.

A 24 / 7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy team is available.

Shifts are 12 hours with report at the bedside.

Self-scheduling is employed, but not finalized until management balances it.

Schedules are released four weeks in advance.

Census and staffing dictate the availability of nurse aides.

Travelers may access schedules from home and make themselves available for extra shifts or trades with other staff.

Floating to other facilities in the network may occur.

Floor-specific orientation will take place with a preceptor.

Common diagnoses in the ICU include a variety of medical cases.

The ICU has a horseshoe layout, facilitating an efficient workflow for travelers.

Cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled per assignment duration.

Charting is conducted through an electronic medical record system.

Travelers should be prepared for a basic ICU setting.
