Key Responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager in ensuring timely and budget-conscious project deliveriesMonitor project progress, update schedules, and compile comprehensive project reportsReview and manage submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs)Conduct geotechnical assessments for trench stability, shoring, and dewatering related to underground workSupport quality control and testing protocolsPrepare and manage change orders diligentlyExamine contract documents and specifications for compliance assuranceMaintain meticulous project documentationOrder and oversee tracking of project materials, equipment, and suppliesCollaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to guarantee timely project supportEngage directly with municipal owners, inspectors, and agencies in the Chicagoland areaFoster strong professional relationships with all stakeholders, including owners, engineers, and field teamsEmploy effective conflict resolution to facilitate on-site problem-solvingParticipate in progress meetings with municipalities and project stakeholdersChampion job site safety initiatives and uphold OSHA complianceAssist in meeting environmental and regulatory obligations for public worksQualifications
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related disciplineUp to 5 years of relevant work experience (internships or full-time) in construction is preferredSound understanding of civil engineering principles and a strong interest in underground constructionExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesProven ability to excel in a public works contracting environment involving multiple stakeholdersCompensation & Benefits
