Job descriptionAssist the Project Manager in ensuring timely and budget-conscious project deliveries Monitor project progress, update schedules, and compile comprehensive project reports Review and manage submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs) Conduct geotechnical assessments for trench stability, shoring, and dewatering related to underground work Support quality control and testing protocols Prepare and manage change orders diligently Examine contract documents and specifications for compliance assurance Maintain meticulous project documentation Order and oversee tracking of project materials, equipment, and supplies Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to guarantee timely project support Engage directly with municipal owners, inspectors, and agencies in the Chicagoland area Foster strong professional relationships with all stakeholders, including owners, engineers, and field teams Employ effective conflict resolution to facilitate on-site problem-solving Participate in progress meetings with municipalities and project stakeholders Champion job site safety initiatives and uphold OSHA compliance Assist in meeting environmental and regulatory obligations for public works Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline Up to 5 years of relevant work experience (internships or full-time) in construction is preferred Sound understanding of civil engineering principles and a strong interest in underground construction Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities Proven ability to excel in a public works contracting environment involving multiple stakeholders Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $120,000 Company vehicle with a fuel card 401(k) retirement savings plan Comprehensive health and dental insurance Long-term career advancement opportunities with a respected contractor
