Yard Operations Manager

At Rudolph Libbe Inc., a leading Commercial and Industrial construction firm, our success starts long before work begins on a job site it starts with the people and processes behind the scenes. We are seeking a Yard Operations Manager to oversee operations at our Walbridge, Ohio headquarters, a critical hub supporting projects across the region.

The Yard Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that our construction projects have the tools, materials, and equipment they need on time and in working condition. This position is responsible for managing the yard and warehouse, tool inventory, and trucking operations for our Walbridge location. This position also oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the Rudolph Libbe Inc. office and grounds, ensuring a safe, efficient, and organized environment that reflects our commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Managing overall warehouse operations and personnel including yard associates, mechanic, truck drivers and administrative staff.

Maintain the warehouse operations in an organized, efficient manner consistent with our safety culture.

Functional knowledge of materials, tools and methods available to efficiently complete construction activities.

Manage material, tools and equipment inventory including tracking systems and compliance with safety standards.

Familiarity with bar coded tools and equipment tracking systems and ensuring tools are safety compliant.

Communication with job site staff.

Coordinating staff for efficient job site deliveries and returns.

Responsible for researching, procurement and maintenance of fleet vehicles.

Assist with forecasting annual department budget and capital expenditures.

Manage upkeep and maintenance of the office facilities and surrounding grounds.

Incidental overtime may be required to meet seasonal or project demands.

Skills

Knowledge of construction methods, tools and equipment.

Responsible for overseeing staff responsible for maintaining facilities, tools and equipment.

Responsive to needs of associates and client needs.

Scheduling and planning skills required to manage a fast paced working environment.

Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and other relevant technology.

Experience hiring, developing and managing a highly functioning team.

Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Education / Experience

High school diploma or GED, some post-secondary education is beneficial.

Seven to ten years of construction industry experience managing warehouse, yard, or logistics operation or related position such as Project Superintendent, Project Management or Journeyman construction trades.

Working knowledge of inventory control systems and basic equipment maintenance.

OSHA Safety Certificate (OSHA 10 or 30 hour construction safety)
