We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments for a high-volume import / export logistics operation. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Process and code invoices to their respective jobs with accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare scheduled check runs to ensure timely vendor payments.
- Utilize multiple systems, including NetSuite, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, and Fileform, to manage invoice workflows.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure invoice accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to verify and reconcile invoice data.
- Handle a high volume of invoices daily while maintaining precision and meeting deadlines.
- Maintain organized records and documentation to support financial audits and reporting.
- Monitor accounts payable processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Support additional administrative tasks related to accounts payable as needed.
- Proven experience in accounts payable, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with NetSuite.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint and other financial management tools.
- Strong communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in import / export or logistics industries is a plus.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining accuracy.
