Job description

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator carries out all aspects of product receiving and shipping to ensure efficient and safe warehouse operations. This position safeguards and promotes the Foodbanks commitment to food safety and requires a high degree of integrity service excellence and urgency in all related matters. This position is responsible for the handling inspection processing and storage of donated food products fulfilling our mission. Hourly Rate : $18 per hour; Shift : M-F7am-3pm

Job Responsibilities :

  • Receive all incoming products and materials by unpacking examining and routing the goods to the appropriate area by following warehouse standard operating procedures; Notify supervisor of any unsafe products found during the examining process.
  • Compare identifying information and counts weights or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading invoices orders or other records.
  • Proper operation of powered equipment including but not limited to lift truck or hand trucks to convey move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
  • Operate the stretch wrap machine.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition by following prescribed safety regulations.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a legible manner in order for consistency accuracy and auditing purposes. Utilizes barcoding and scanner system properly with focus on proper receiving and storing of products. Completes job with a great amount of diligence and accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as needed. Perform daily housekeeping duties as assigned. Ability to be flexible and work with or in other departments when needed.

Required Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-3 years in a warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to follow all American Institute of Baking Feeding America Food and Drug Administration United States Department of Agriculture Occupational Safety Hazard Administration and Foodbank (standard operating procedures and employee handbook) safety regulations.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to resolve conflict in a positive way and solution oriented.
  • Ability to problem solve and to work collaboratively with the team to seek resolution.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and patiently with a diverse group of individuals including Foodbank staff and transportation and logistics.
  • High level of interpersonal skills is required.
  • Ability to produce quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to operate or be trained to operate a pallet jack or tow motor; must pass OSHA testing for lift truck operation.
  • Punctual dependable and flexible to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records or metrics.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision depth perception peripheral vision and ability to adjust and focus.
