Contracts Specialist (Defense/Space)

Acara Solutions is looking for a long-term contract labor Contract Specialist to work with our defense manufacturing client located San Leandro, CA (South of Oakland in the San Francisco Bay Area) who specializes in defense manufacturing.

Contract Pay Rate : $50 / hr to $60 / hrShift : 9 / 80 schedule (Every other Friday off)

Position SummaryThe Contracts Specialist (Level 3) is responsible for supporting successful business outcomes by providing contractual, business, and risk-mitigation guidance across new and ongoing programs. This role contributes to achieving key business and financial objectives, including orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow. The position requires proficient knowledge of contract management, regulatory compliance, and project execution, with the ability to manage contracts and projects under general supervision.

Key ResponsibilitiesInfluence positive business outcomes by supporting contractual strategies aligned with financial and operational , contractual, and risk mitigation guidance to internal , regulations, and contract trends to assess potential impacts on business unit goals and , including the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (, DFARS), and other agency , special provisions, and terms and conditions for regulatory and policy , proposal development, contract changes, and overall contract

Required Skills / Qualifications : -Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of contracts administration experience OR Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience -Proficient knowledge of contracts administration and related business practices-Working knowledge of applicable regulations, including the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)-Ability to analyze and interpret contractual terms, conditions, special provisions, and compliance requirements-Experience supporting contract review, proposal development, contract change control, and overall contract administration-Practical knowledge of project management principles-Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to explain and interpret processes, practices, and procedures

Preferred Skills / Qualifications : -Experience working with FAR supplements, including DFARS, and other agency regulations-Experience serving as a primary contractual interface with customers or external partners-Demonstrated ability to provide contractual, business, and risk mitigation guidance-Experience recommending or implementing process improvements within contracts or business operations-Experience managing projects or processes with responsibility for delegation and review of work
