Are you a civic-minded architect passionate about designing spaces that serve and protect your community? Our client, a 70-year-old, award-winning architecture and planning firm, is seeking a client-facing, Project Architect with hands-on experience in public safety facilities – fire stations, police stations, or emergency operations centers – to join their Fairfax studio.
With a deep civic portfolio spanning K-12 schools, recreation centers, and government buildings, this role offers the opportunity to shape essential community infrastructure while growing toward a Director of Public Safety leadership path.
What You’ll Do
- Lead design and documentation for public safety and civic projects through all phases.
- Collaborate with clients and consultants to translate operational and security needs into thoughtful, functional design solutions.
- Mentor junior designers and oversee quality across Revit models and construction documents.
- Participate in proposals and interviews to help win and shape future public safety work.
- Represent the firm in client and industry settings as a trusted technical and design voice.
What You’ll Bring
