A growing social service agency is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join their team.About the Opportunity : Shift : NightsSchedule : 1 shift per week, WednesdaysHours : 8pm-8amSetting : Homeless shelterResponsibilities : : Assists with calling for refillsAssures safe storage of medicationsEnsures that clients have appropriate supplies and access to medicationsMonitors client reactions for side effects and reporting to prescribing providerProvides nursing screening of all new clientsAssists in connecting psychiatric, medical and substance abuse problems to appropriate providersParticipates in clinical meetings with medical staff, shelter case management, & administrative staffCommunicates regularly with on-site psychiatric and medical providers, case managers and on-site operations & administrative staffAdministers medications ordered by the providers; administers injections ordered by providersProvides medication teaching as neededAssists clients with self-administer medicationsProvides ongoing health education and support to clientsPerforms other duties, as neededQualifications : Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse licenseAmerican Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification3 years of clinical experience working as a nurse with the mental health or substance abuse populationExperience working with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systemMust have knowledge Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and ExcelMust have excellent oral and listening skillsMust have the ability to interface with clients as well as all levels of staffDesired Skills : Working with Homeless individualsby Jobble
