- Lead business development and marketing efforts for assigned practice areas, in coordination with the New York BD team.
- Collaborate with partners on strategic initiatives including pitch development, RFP responses, and client targeting through research and analysis.
- Plan and execute client-facing events such as CLEs, seminars, webinars, and networking functions.
- Support practice group leaders in developing and implementing business development plans at the individual, practice, and office levels.
- Partner with communications and BD colleagues to produce tailored pitch materials, award submissions (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500), and other marketing collateral.
- Oversee thought leadership initiatives including client alerts, blogs, podcasts, and article placements in legal publications.
- Maintain and update marketing materials including website content, brochures, pitch templates, attorney bios, and accolades.
- Collaborate with senior BD team members to develop and execute integration plans for lateral hires, ensuring early client development success.
- Work with practice leaders to establish and manage select client teams to deepen relationships across service lines.
- Evaluate and manage conference sponsorships and related opportunities.
- Liaise with office administration on budget planning and financial tracking for BD initiatives.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

The Successful Applicant
A successful Business Development (BD) Manager should have :
- Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in law firm business development or a similar professional services role.
- Strong understanding of finance-related practices; familiarity with Private Equity, Litigation (including Patent / IP), M&A, Tax, and Banking / Finance.
- Deep knowledge of the legal marketplace and large law firm operations.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach and strong follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with attorneys at all levels.
- Strong influencing and diplomatic skills.
- Proficiency with databases and comfort with administrative tasks.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
