The Assistant Project Manager is a professional position that serves as an entry point into the Project Manager role, designed to develop the skills, knowledge, abilities, and competencies needed to advance within Project Management. The Assistant Project Manager reports to a Project Manager Supervisor and learns on the job to become the primary point of contact for all technical and financial issues relating to specific projects. The Assistant Project Manager learns all aspects of an assigned project including project schedule, customer and vendor relations, project equipment procurement, and maintaining engineering / project team communications and relationships.
