Strong experience in the operation of cardiac stimulators and radiofrequency generators.
Experience with CRM (continuous rhythm management) programmers.
Ability to assist medical staff with invasive electrophysiology procedures.
Description :
The Electrophysiology Technologist provides technical assistance for arrhythmia procedures, including implantation and programming of arrhythmia control devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators.
Responsibilities include conducting electrophysiology studies and performing arrhythmia ablations.
Procedures in the Electrophysiology Lab are performed for a wide range of patient demographics, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Common procedures include diagnostic EP studies, atrial flutter / fibrillation ablations, PVC ablations, SVT ablations, VT ablations, temporary pacing, and implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators.
Patients require continuous cardiac monitoring and frequent intervention by physicians, nursing staff, and technologists.
The department operates Monday through Friday for routine, urgent, and emergent cases.
Outpatient procedures are performed in a designated multispecialty procedure unit.
Staff may be required to work in multiple locations within the organization.
An on-call team is available seven days a week for cases outside of routine hours.
Staff is expected to maintain equipment, manage inventory, and adhere to sterile techniques during procedures.
Skills include accurate monitoring, arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, and effective communication within the team.
Experience with various electrophysiology equipment and procedures is crucial for success in this role.
