Rooming patientsChecking vitalsAssisting with proceduresClinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocolsPredominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basisMaintains a clean, organized, and safe environmentOrganizes and performs patient care services that support the provider's practiceRelaying instructions from the provider to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entryAcquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPICBasic registration and updating of demographicsWound care, stitch removal, assisting with proceduresMust be comfortable working in settings that may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious materials, adhering to strict safety and infection control protocolsOther duties assigned as needed#LI-EE1
Qualifications
Required Education / Experience / Specialized Skills :
Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanRequired Certification / Registration :
BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)Preferred Education / Experience / Specialized Skills / Certification :
One year of experience as a MA, preferably in surgery
