For over 30 years, our work has supported communities through innovative design, technical excellence, and collaborative partnerships.

We’re expanding our Land Surveying Division and seeking an Associate Land Surveyor to support and lead projects throughout Northern California. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, mid-level surveyor ready to take the next step in professional growth and leadership.

Position Overview

The Associate Land Surveyor will play a key role in managing both field and office surveying operations for public and private land development projects. This individual will oversee boundary, topographic, and construction surveys; coordinate with project managers and clients; and provide mentorship to junior staff while supporting the continued growth of our Folsom office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing control surveys, preliminary and design surveys, and construction staking.
  • Prepare and review maps, plats, legal descriptions, and other survey deliverables.
  • Provide QA / QC review of survey work for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and public agencies to support project objectives.
  • Lead and mentor field crews, providing technical guidance on data collection, calculations, and mapping procedures.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource coordination for multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Support preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project deliverables.
  • Contribute to staff training, development, and workflow improvement across the survey team.

Qualifications

  • Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California.
  • 3–10 years of progressive land surveying experience, including boundary and construction surveys.
  • Strong understanding of field-to-finish workflows, including GPS, total station, and LiDAR data collection.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative, team-based environment.
