Position Summary
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining residential and light commercial heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. This role demands strong technical skills, customer focus, and the ability to work independently— all while upholding Reliable Heating & Cooling’s high standards of professionalism and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and install HVAC systems (furnaces, AC units, heat pumps, ductless systems, etc.)
- Perform routine maintenance and system tune-ups to ensure peak performance
- Provide accurate explanations of work performed and system recommendations to customers
- Provide estimates to customers for repairs, replacements, or upgrades
- Prepare detailed service records and documentation in company software
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and company procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service requests (evenings / weekends as needed)
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in clean, working order
- Represent Reliable Heating & Cooling with integrity, professionalism, and respect for customers’ properties
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferred2+ years of HVAC service / installation experience (will consider strong entry-level candidates)Valid EPA 608 Certification (required)Colorado Mechanical License (preferred, or ability to obtain)Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and troubleshooting techniquesExcellent communication and customer service skillsValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordAbility to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces (crawlspaces, attics), and in varying weather conditionsWhat We Offer
