At our Winsted, CT facility, youll learn the craft of precision CNC machining while contributing to aerospace parts that keep the world moving. As an Entry-Level CNC Machining Apprentice, youll be trained to set up, run, and maintain at least one CNC process (such as rotary equipment or surface grinding) while meeting safety, quality, and production targets.
Compensation & Schedule
- Starting pay : $21.00 / hour minimum; higher starting rate commensurate with skills
- Shift differentials : +$2.00 / hour for 2nd shift; +$3.00 / hour for 3rd shift
- Training : Opportunity to train on 1st shift for several months if needed

Set up machines and perform wheel changes within standard set-up times in your assigned workstationOperate CNC equipment such as rotary machines and surface grinders; perform in-process inspections to verify qualityKeep precise records : tooling calibration, daily walk-around checks, productivity / utilization, schedule adherence, and quality dataMaintain 6S standards, execute clean-up shift procedures, and keep visual control boards and hour-by-hour charts currentSupport and drive continuous improvement activities; follow Employee Handbook policiesEngage fully in Quality and EH&S programs and policiesAchieve and maintain certified status; maintain acceptable attendancePerform additional duties as assignedQualifications
Education : High school diploma or GEDMath & documentation : add / subtract / multiply / divide (including decimals and fractions); use basic formulas, charts, and tables; review and interpret reports and recordsTechnical literacy : read blueprints, drawings, specifications, and wiring / assembly diagramsTools & tech : operate computer scanning devices and adjustable measuring instrumentsDecision-making : plan work and determine sequence of set-ups, operations, and processes; follow documented instructions, methods, and routinesExperience : 1 2 years in machine operation preferredPreferred proficiency
