Patient Volume / Census : 22,000 annual ED volume; average 65 patients / day

Admissions : 24% admit rate

Case Mix : General Emergency Medicine

EMR System : Epic

Office Equipment Available : Standard ED and procedural equipment

Specialty Backup Available : Wide variety of specialty services available

Support Staff Available : full ED team support

Credentialing Timeline : 49 days

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Emergency medicine procedures within standard NP / PA scope

Basic and advanced emergency stabilization

EM practice consistent with ACLS / ATLS

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses : Active Alabama license required

Board : Board Certified

DEA : Alabama DEA required

Certifications : ACLS, ATLS

Experience : Emergency medicine experience required

Other Qualifications : Ability to perform in a high-volume ED; Epic EMR experience preferred, ability to work 12hr shifts

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct emergency care during assigned clinical shifts

Manage patient evaluation, treatment, and disposition in the ED

Collaborate with attending physicians and specialty services as needed

Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation

Participate in hospital orientation and EMR training prior to first shift
