The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County's most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students.
In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment.

Job Summary
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) Family Support Services program helps subsidize child care payments for eligible families throughout the County of Orange. The program is funded by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Child Care and Development Division. Subsidized child care is provided via contracts established between OCDE Family Support Services (FSS) and a provider who is an independent contractor selected by the parent.
OCDE Family Support Services encourages families to carefully select a provider. Families may choose family day care homes, license-exempt providers, center programs, school districts, or sectarian care. Parents are encouraged to select a child care setting that best reflects their parental and cultural values, meeting the individual needs of their
family.
OCDE is currently seeking a skilled and adaptable professional to serve as Provider Services Specialist, Family Support Services. This position will supervise the day to day operations of the Provider Services Team responsible for the enrollment, provider contracts, provider records and files, provider payments, fiscal reporting, and interfacing with OCE fiscal services. The person selected will recommend and assist in the implementation of goals, objectives, and strategic plan. Select, train, advise, supervise, evaluate, and assist staff in all operations relating to providers and provider payments. Attend and participate in professional group meetings. Collaborate with other county agencies such as Children's Home Society, Social Services Agency, Health Care Agency,
etc.

Before receiving authorization to work in this position, the individual selected will be required to provide a current negative TB authorization, within the last 60 days, and submit fingerprints for the purpose of conducting a confidential background investigation and record check. The tests are arranged and paid for by OCDE.
