  • Be a personal companion to clients and act as a supportive Mend serving their needs and working to build their independence.
  • Encourage and foster individuals' preferred goals, hobbies and interests.
  • Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals' many daily living needs, including but not limited to nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, and socialization skills.
  • Help individuals to bathe, groom and dress, eat and drink, if necessary, always working to ' improv self-reliance
  • Help set individual goals and work client progress, noting any domestic changes, reporting to superiors.
  • Make phone calls and drive clients to medical appointments, meetings, events, etc.
  • Ensure client have their prescribed medication and coordinate with supervisor.
  • Encourage individual skill development and work towards community integration.
  • Develop meaningful relationships and connections with clients to make "them feel cared for and included in the community.
  • Follow all health and safety protocol.
  • Help clean, tidy home for the individuals.
  • Attend education courses, training and get certificates as the job requires.
  • Be compassionate, patient and encouraging support professional at all times.

Requirements :

High school diploma / GED required.

  • 2+ years' experience providing direct care to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassionate about the care and well-being of others
  • Must have a reliable transportation.
  • Clean DMV driving record.
  • Valid car insurance
  • Must be 18 years or older and have a clear criminal history.
  • Other qualification

  • Valid CPR / First Aid certificate (required before working with a client)
  • Pro Act technique training within thirty days of hire
  • This is a part-time or hill-time, hourly position. Hours are flexible.
