Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry

The Bay Pines VA Medical Center has an immediate opening for a full-time Board Certified / Board Eligible Consultation & Liaison Psychiatrist. The Bay Pines VA is located on the beautiful west coast of Florida, eight miles northwest of the international resort community of St. Petersburg and features a beautiful setting, with views of the Intracoastal Waterway from many hospital rooms. Candidates must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health of our veterans. The Bay Pines VA Medical Center is fully dedicated to providing top-quality medical care by serving and honoring Americas Veterans.

Duties :

Management, psychotherapy, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and overall care of patients with psychiatric disorders.

Provide consultation services to the inpatient medicine and surgery services as well as the ED.

Responsible for the continuing management of assigned patients

Psychiatric examination and treatment

Psychopharmacologic evaluation and treatment

Coordination of consultations and referral of patients

Operation of quality assurance and utilization programs including peer reviews, open and closed medical record reviews and utilization reviews

Other duties as assigned
