Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 17 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 11 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel RN – Med / Surg Telemetry (Observation Unit) Location : 460 W 10th Ave, Room 224, Columbus, OH 43210 Shift : Nights, 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 – 07 : 30) Description : Seeking an experienced Med / Surg Telemetry RN for the Observation Unit (MS / TELE / ONC) . This role provides care to stable patients requiring short stays and close monitoring, with a focus on high-quality, efficient treatment and safe discharge planning. Details : Certifications : Required : BCLS Preferred : ACLS, OCN Skills Required : Telemetry Dysrhythmia interpretation IV starts PICC line management Experience : Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg Telemetry experience required; first-time travelers accepted Ratios : 1 : 4 Floating : May occasionally float to the James ED to assist with inpatient Med / Surg Tele patients awaiting transfer (orientation provided) Scrubs : Not provided; Color – Navy Blue / White Common Patient Diagnoses : Dehydration & electrolyte imbalance Nausea / vomiting Chemotherapy / radiation symptom management Acute kidney injury Palliative / pain management Urinary tract infection Syncope Post-procedure observation (IR, GI, Pulmonary) Transition to hospice PEG tube / line placement Fever of unknown origin Unit Overview : Observation Unit manages patients with short stays (≤ two midnights). Focused on efficient care without premature discharge / admission. Patients boarded from ED and ICC in observation status. Staffed by APPs and supervising MDs.
