Service Technician – Industrial Equipment (Confidential) | Lake Zurich, IL
We’re representing a growing, family-owned OEM in the industrial equipment space that is looking to add a Service Technician to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude who enjoys troubleshooting, traveling, and customer-facing work. This position is ideal for someone who wants to get out in the field, work hands-on with custom industrial systems, and continue building their technical skillset through structured training and mentorship.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to customer sites (70–80% travel, mostly domestic) for installation, startup, commissioning, and service of industrial systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on custom equipment including fans, blowers, burners, valves, and controls.
- Perform preventative maintenance, annual checks, and field upgrades.
- Collaborate with engineering and service leadership to ensure customer needs are met.
- Deliver technical support and training to end-users, building strong relationships with customers.
- When not traveling, work out of the Lake Zurich headquarters (after 1 year, 20–30% remote flexibility).

1–5+ years of service, maintenance, or field tech experience (open to entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude).Mechanical troubleshooting experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, fans, blowers, actuators, or valves.Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting (24–480V). PLC experience is a plus but not required.Customer-facing skills—comfortable explaining technical issues and solutions to clients.Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to travel frequently.Nice-to-have : Experience with industrial HVAC, combustion systems (burners, boilers, ovens), or oxidizers.Compensation & Details
