• Patient Ratio : 1 : 4 (max 1 : 5 for stepdown)\n
• EMR System : Meditech\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1360-$1460\nPCU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state\n
• At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or stepdown RN experience\n
• Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS\n
• Strong clinical skills and excellent communication abilities\n
• Preferred : Trauma or Orthopedic nursing experience; Meditech EMR proficiency\n
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment\nPCU RN Responsibilities\n
• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients requiring acute surgical, trauma, and post-operative interventions\n
• Monitor and assess patients with trauma, cardiac, neurological, and surgical conditions\n
• Administer and titrate IV drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, etc.)\n
• Perform frequent patient assessments and monitor vital signs every 4 hours\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes\n
• Float as needed to other stepdown units, including Heart and Vascular Unit\n
• Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate documentation and care coordination\n
