POSITION SUMMARY :
The Fitness Coach will provide supervision and instruction to members in the E-Gym program and Wellness floors by listening actively, strengthening relationships, and promoting healthy living with YMCA members. The Coach is responsible for conducting and overseeing E-Gym appointments, ensuring the effective delivery of wellness coaching services to clients. The Fitness coach's role is crucial in motivating, guiding, and instructing clients to help them achieve their health and fitness goals through E-Gym sessions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
YMCA LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES (Leader) :
QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelors degree in fitness related fields, are preferred. College courses related to anatomy and physiology or related experience are accepted. A high school diploma is required. Must have knowledge of weight room equipment, cardiovascular equipment, and general strength training principles. YMCA certifications to include : (within 6 months of hire) Healthy Lifestyle Principles, YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and YMCA FitQuest Coaches training. Nationally recognized certifications are accepted, ACE, AFFA, ACSM. CPR / AED and First Aid are required.
