Job Description Summary
The Interventional Radiology Technologist reports to the Interventional Radiology Supervisor. Under general supervision, the Interventional Radiology Technologist competently performs technical duties utilizing various types of equipment to image selected vascular structures or therapeutic intervention to assist in diagnosis or treatment. This role provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The technologist applies principles of positioning, radiographic sciences, and ensures radiation protection is exercised with specialized techniques. This position assists and supports the physicians with invasive procedures.

Minimum Training and Education : Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one-year radiologic work experience. Copy of academic degree or transcript required.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required.
