Job Summary
The Resource Family Recruiter / Trainer / Social Worker is responsible for recruiting families to provide short and / or long-term foster care in their homes, and for identifying needs, developing and implementing training programs for prospective resource families.
Essential Functions
- Speaking to community groups, organizations, churches to generate interest and promote foster care, ISFC, RHAS / RSS and Adoptions
- Networking with public / private agencies
- Conduct and assess preliminary home study for prospective Resource families
- Conduct periodic trainings and ongoing trainings for Resource Families, RHAS families and RSS families based on needs and / or to remain in compliance with ongoing requirements
- Schedule and conduct trainings for prospective resource parents and RHAS families.
- Develops and prepares training materials and handouts.
- Gather and prepare documents necessary for the certification process; work with families to ensure homes and / or documents are in place for approval and in compliance with Title XXII Regulations, program and Agency policies
- Participates in Agency wide meetings as appropriate to ensure all those concerned are kept informed as to recruiting and training activities
- Documentation of meetings, contacts and case progress by completing paperwork, weekly progress report and writing plans of service.
- Sensitive and responsive to the cultural differences among the agency's client population
- Travel to field locations, including DCFS / DFCS offices and partner agencies, to present and share current foster home vacancies and agency capacity.
- Field intake calls and coordinate possible placement with assistance of the director of FFA / ISFC or social worker
- Actively participate in a quality improvement project
Education and Experience
Master's degree in social work, psychology and or a related behavioral science degree from anaccredited university, college, or community college and two years of professional experience in the field of social work, behavioral science or social science32 units from an accredited university, college, or community college, with at least 16 units in social work, social sciences, humanities, public administration, or public health3 years full-time experience at an agency providing social services to children or familiesBilingual in Spanish and English requiredCertifications / Licenses

While performing the duties of the Resource Family Recruiter / Trainer, the employee is frequently required to sit and use their fingers to manipulate a keyboard or writing instrument. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, bend and lift objects heavier than ten pounds. The employee is rarely required to drive or run.
