Job Responsibilities :
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and procedures, and document treatments in accordance with policy and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to effectively assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
- Utilize sound nursing judgment in decision-making regarding patient care management.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as directed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining high professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate from a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's Degree).Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is preferred.Strong communication, prioritization, organization, and time-management skills are essential.Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques is important for department and patient support.Thank you for considering a career with Albany Medical Center!
