Trauma Critical Care Surgeon - Abilene, TX

Position Overview

Join a dynamic surgical team in a level III trauma center offering advanced facilities and a collaborative work environment. This role is ideal for surgeons looking for a structured schedule that promotes work-life balance, with a 7-on / 7-off model. The position involves trauma, emergency general surgery, and critical care responsibilities, supported by advanced practice providers and a skilled clinical team.

Position Highlights

  • Full-Time
  • 7 days on / 7 days off schedule
  • 24-hour shifts with 12 hours of primary and 12 hours of backup call
  • Two-surgeon model with advanced practice provider (APP) support
  • No in-house requirement during backup call
  • Diverse case mix with moderate trauma volume
  • Inpatient rounding and outpatient follow-up clinic
  • Supportive OR team and 14 state-of-the-art operating rooms
